Common Ground

acrylic on canvas
61 x 152cm

Left and centre to the canvas depicts a view of country from above that has been destroyed, stripped bare from the surface and mined. To the right is an area that has an element of health to it, with shadows from the trees stretching from the edge into the sloped surface. The flow from right to left of the painting positions healing as wanting to move across into the parts cleared.

Considered are the thoughts of the Old People still in country there, and what they’d be saying should someone listen.
