Painted is our Sacred Kurrajong tree on Gunggari Country.
A privilege I have in my life is knowing the Country of my Old People and having the opportunities to visit.
Being on Country with family, listening to stories being shared (such as the importance of this tree), and hearing language being spoken is a privilege I’ll always carry with me.
I also consider the words shared by my Uncle Jim South,
“Being Black is a privilege, not a right. We have to earn that right.”
