‘Because it is a scared thing’

This piece shows how our sacred places are deeply connected to our Country, our stories and Songlines, all of which span the entire continent. The ‘intangible’, if you will.

Often where land is to be taken that contains our sacred places, there is an insistence of tangible evidence to save the sites. Often though, all tangible evidence is removed as a part of land clearing, souveniring or deliberate obfuscation.

This results in claims needing to depend on intangible evidence, which is often less readily recognised or deemed valid.

This piece is from the perspective of looking down from above on a sacred place, showing the connections to other sacred places across the country.
