Get the eyes right and the rest will fall into place’. I wanted to push that a bit with this portrait of Wayne by using minimal detail. The different colours on his nose and face refer to the scars he received when wounded serving in Vietnam.

The turquoise line across one side of his forehead refers to the intense deposit of artistic activity residing in the right side of Wayne’s mind and is reflected in the colour of his eyes. Once you see through artist’s eyes there is no going back.
